We were blown away by the MacBook Air M1 as soon as we started using it. In terms of battery life, we expected the 'Apple silicon' to be more power-efficient, so it's no surprise that the MacBook Air boasts the longest battery life of any MacBook Air yet, Apple claims up to 15 hours of wireless web surfing or up to 18 hours of video playback.

After a few hours of working (and browsing online) the battery level remains high and even if I leave it on standby for a day and go back to it, the battery drops by just a few percentage points, the battery life of the MacBook Air was very impressive.

The MacBook Air M1 lasted 11 hours and 15 minutes in our official battery test, which involves playing a looped 1080p video at 50% brightness until the battery dies.

That's a lot longer than the previous model (7 hours 55 minutes) survived in the same testing, and it even outlasts the current Dell XPS 13. (11 hours 1 minute).

This means you should be able to go a full workday (and more) without charging the MacBook Air, though the battery will certainly drain faster if you're doing more heavy tasks with it.

Although it doesn't quite match the 13-inch MacBook Pro's M1 battery life of 13 hours and 22 minutes, we can't picture anyone complaining about the MacBook Air's M1 battery life.
